Public Health Advisory: Chickenpox cases confirmed on Navajo Nation

  • Individuals who have never had chickenpox or have not received both vaccine doses may be at risk.
  • Symptoms usually appear 8 to 21 days after exposure and include rash, fever, and fatigue.
  • Vaccines are available free of charge at IHS and Tribal Health facilities.
  • Anyone exposed or experiencing symptoms should contact their healthcare provider promptly.
